Add to Cart
The veo 16:128 uses 128 element probes providing more power for on-site inspection and offers further further functionality including TOFD & Interface Triggering (TCG/DAC). Simple controls, advanced features and rugged enclosure deliver power and superior performance to the technician's finger tips. Ultrasonic Phased Array inspection techniques are becoming the leading method for advanced NDT inspection. Applications typically include Weld Inspection, Corrosion Mapping, Aerospace and Composite Testing amongst others.
The new veo 16:128 enables the end user technician to use 128 probe elements for inspection and makes it possible to connect to larger single probes or multiple probes.

Improved Speed of Inspection
Increased Power & Capability is important for weld inspection applications where a linear scan from both sides of the weld is needed.  The new veo 16:128 can utilise a pair of 64-element probes, allowing inspection to be carried out in a single pass, improving both the speed of inspection; and positional accuracy since the two probes are linked together.
Ideal WheelProbe Partner
Efficient and effective scanning can also be achieved when the new veo is partnered with Sonatest’s large Wheel probe which is capable of scanning a strip of up to 100mm in a single pass.  The system is Ideal for large area scanning applications and corrosion inspection.
Enhanced performance for Aerospace and composite applications
The challenging arena of aerospace composite inspection is made easier using the 128 element capability; as several inspection techniques for advanced materials such as GLARE have now been developed which require high resolution probes with 96 or 128 elements.
Further benefits to the new 16:128 veo include the capability of pitch-catch inspection techniques, merged c-scan inspections, top views and included  UT Studio viewing and analysis software.
Intuitive Menus and Workflow
As with the 16:64 the menu system is intuitive and application and workflow driven, with set up and operation swiftly becoming second nature. Integrated Help and Wizards guide the user through scan set up whilst Optimisation Tips ensure the veo always performs at the highest level. Fast and efficient wizards for sound velocity, wedge delay, TCG, DAC, TOFD setup and Encoder calibration are all provided as standard.
The Inspection Plan shows the operator in 2D and 3D where probes are positioned on the test part, simplifying the inspection setup and providing an inspection reference for reporting. Using the latest computer technology data can be permanently recorded for processing and report generation.

Robust and Reliable
Sonatest's reputation for robust design and proven reliability is an important aspect of flaw detector ownership.
Down time is expensive and should be minimised to ensure maximum productivity. The Railscan is constructed to high standards using Xenoy plastics and sealed to IP67, giving excellent water resistance so it can withstand the tough environments in which operators work.

The Railscan comes with 2 years warranty, extendable to 5 years with Sonacover, and a worldwide service network.
High Visibility Display
For any flaw detector the display is a crucial element. The Railscan has a colour transflective TFT display as standard, providing high visibility at any light level. The choice of colours for menus and waveform display enhance clarity, with the LCD simulation mode giving direct sunlight readability. The TFT does not suffer the typical black out problems or temperature limitations of LCD giving full weather capability. The new Full Screen mode maximises the A-scan area to improve readability further whilst testing and its fast response and peak capture functionality ensure any indicationis clearly displayed, even if it only appears for one cycle of the 1 KHz PRf.
SDMS (Optional Sonatest Data Management Software)
This Windows based data management tool allows the user to interface a Sonatest digital flawOptional Sonatest Data Management Software detector with a PC. The software uploads and downloads panel settings and A-scans, which can also be copied and pasted into Word for customised reporting. Thickness readings can be transferred directly into Excel with the ability to produce charts for B & C-Scans, colour 3D mapping etc.

Features
Colour Reference Feature
An A-scan from a known defect free component can be stored and recalled in a different colour to the live A-scan. This effectively means that defects are highlighted in a different colour to the natural reflectors, enabling quicker and more reliable defect detection.
Flexible Measurement
Two independent bar monitor gates offer a range of measurement options for signal height or distance using either flank or peak triggering. The echo-to-echo mode gives through paint thickness readings while the G1-G2 mode allows accurate gate positioning for signals which are extremely close together. The TRIG function gives surface distance and depth when using angle beam transducers.
Curve Surface Correction
When using angle beam transducers on a curved surface the Sitescan will calculate the surface distance and depth of defect, taking into account the internal or external radius.
Flaw Sizing
Automatic flaw sizing using DGS/AVG, AWS D1.1, API 5UE, speeds reporting of defect acceptance or rejection.
Help Facility
Using the HELP key the operator has instant access to the easy to use on screen guidance. Full instructions for all functions are clearly displayed. A very useful function for multi-disciplined technicians who use a variety of NDT techniques and do not use the Sitescan on a day-to-day basis.
Full Screen A-scan
In full screen mode the A-scan fills the display improving visibility.
Fast Set Up Screen
The split screen mode enables fast set up and overview of basic parameters.
